Pressing In

The challenges throughout the life experiences of a Christian never let up, and are the exact opposite from
someone who doesn’t know Christ.  When we fall down, we are lifted up to a higher place than
we’ve previously known.  When we suffer a great loss, we gain much from it at a later time.  If we die to our
own selves, our carnal nature, we experience a more fulfilling life than ever before.  If we allow ourselves to
become empty vessels, we are filled.  It takes a mature Christian to not only conceptualize it, but to dare put it
into practice.

In other words Christians, unless we give it up, hand it over, surrender what we think we own but don’t, we
can’t gain any ground in our growth in Christ.  Leaving the baggage behind and pressing toward the mark of
perfection in Christ is a road less traveled even for those who know Him, but is the road to real joy.  Keep
pressing in because the rewards will be unspeakable, profitable, well worth the journey, glorious.  And the
road leads directly to Him.  Isn’t that the point?

“I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
      Philippians 3:14
